Safety Philosophy
“Safety is something that happens between your ears, not something you hold in your hands.” - Jeff Cooper
In an era of the game where concerns around safety are continuing to rise, our program will focus on two primary principals.
Everyone who is involved or connected to our program will be educated on the safety concerns surrounding football and how our program will handle them. Football is a physical sport, but it can be played safely and successfully.
We will take every precaution to ensure minimal risk to our players. This will include the following:
Proper tackling techniques that emphasize taking the head out of the tackle.
Proper warm-ups and stretches to minimize non contact injuries.
A balanced approach between contact and non contact drills in practice to ensure game preparedness while keeping players safe.
Top equipment to help reduce injury.
It is understood the game has shifted. When players are coached correctly and learn how to play the game safely, it is still possible to play this game with passion, heart, and success.
