Discipline

It’s hard to create a blanket statement regarding discipline.  However, we will direct players to the guideline of seeking how to be better in all situations.

Each case with each player will be treated uniquely as each player will be influenced by their unique situations and circumstances. Under the core philosophy of getting better, I will always seek out conversation with any player regarding discipline, as this allows for growth in the player and for them to potentially better themselves.  Contact with any other individuals as necessary will also be immediate, whether it be teammates, classmates, teachers, administration, or most importantly, parents.  There are three main arenas of discipline to anticipate when preparing for these conversations as they arise.

Football Activity

During football activities, we have clear expectations from our players on what behavior is expected during lifts, practices, or games. In these allotted times, we aim to not waste our players time and keep them active, thereby allowing for less time for disciplinary issues to arise.  Guidelines and expected behavior will be covered during spring meetings and practice and repeated throughout the summer and season.

School

During the school day, the football program will respect, support, and assist with any discipline issues when requested.  Our players will be expected to respect their teachers, complete all their assignments, and be where they are supposed to be.

Off Campus

Whether students are leaving school during an allotted time or after the school day, our players are expected to be respectful of all authority, both in the community and at home. Players are expected to make the right, legal choices as they develop into young adults in the community. Our program will support any parental/administration decision in regards to one of our players and discipline for any action outside of football.
