Parents

The biggest influence on our student athletes and our program is of course the parents.  They have to understand what we are doing in our program and believe in it.  In order for parents to understand, they have to see the work that is put in and see what is happening. The first opportunity we will give is evening practices in the spring and pre-season to allow parents to come and watch how practices work. Parents will be able to participate in a portion of our practice to see how we interact with our players and understand the work our coaches put into preparing players.

In the spring, we will hold a parent meeting where the guidelines and expectations for the summer and season will be laid out.  I believe up front and open communication with parents allows for transparency and buy in from them as we work to build up their athletes.  To maintain communication, I will be diligent in fielding all parental contacts within 48 hours. All parent/coach communications must abide by the Henderson High School Parent/Coach Communication Guidelines.

In regards to parents, the number 1 rule that will be put in place is that they are not to address any coaches or players during competition. We will regularly explain to parents that anyone who wants to have input in how we do things is welcome to attend all team events and work alongside our coaches and players who are giving so much of themselves to play this game.
